The university immediately contained the incident and engaged third-party cybersecurity and forensic experts to assess the nature and scope of the breach and review compromised data. Affected individuals were notified on March 28, 2025, and offered 12 months of complimentary credit monitoring and identity theft protection services. The cyberattack was claimed by metaencryptor on 2024-08-22.
