On December 19, 2024, Miedema Produce, Inc. discovered suspicious activity on its systems that may have exposed the names and Social Security numbers of current and former employees. A forensic investigation concluded on January 24, 2025 and, while no misuse has been detected, the company deployed enhanced security controls including endpoint monitoring and a global password reset. Affected individuals are being offered identity theft protection services through IDX, with credit and CyberScan monitoring, insurance reimbursement, and recovery assistance. The cyberattack was claimed by ransomhub on 2025-01-21.
